Q: How much does use of RCC facilities and services cost?
A: Use of RCC facilities by UQ staff, students and affiliates for UQ research is free.
If your storage requirements are excessive, RCC may need to request a contribution to the cost of consumable storage media and related costs.
Q: Are you sure it is free?
A: Yes, usually. Sometimes projects or UQ Organisational Units need to contribute to consumable costs.
Under RCC’s engagement model, some Faculties and Institutes are co-funding support positions within RCC that are targeted to their areas of research computation.
Q: Will it hurt to use RCC facilities?
A: Not usually, however using command line HPC for the first time can cause a dull headache.

Q: Is there something I can run a web server/host webpages on?
A: Yes! The ARDC Nectar Research Cloud provides access to virtual machines on the cloud. Virtual machines can be used for a range of purposes, including Web hosting and serving, virtual desktops, iPython and RStudio. Applications for Nectar virtual machines can be made via the QRIScloud website.
